After seven years guiding the Alongside Hope Youth Council and sharing the work of our partners with youth across Canada, Su McLeod will transition from Youth Engagement Coordinator to Director of Supporter Relations. This new public engagement team has the important focus of deepening our relationships with Anglicans and Anglican churches across the country.

McLeod strengthened the mandate and work of the Youth Council and made deeper connections into Alongside Hope’s engagement with Indigenous youth. She also forged ties with Indigenous communities and partners across Canada. Among many other initiatives, McLeod has devoted time and leadership skills to the National Youth Project of CLAY (Canadian Lutheran and Anglican Youth), Sacred Beginnings with Indigenous Ministries and Fire Talk, a Mental Wellness Program for Indigenous Youth.

“My time as Youth Engagement Coordinator at Alongside Hope has been a joy and deeply meaningful,” says McLeod. “I’m honoured to step into the role of Director of Supporter Relations. I’m excited to support our incredible staff team and strengthen relationships with dioceses and communities across the Anglican Church of Canada.“

McLeod brings a wealth of knowledge and commitment to the Anglican Church of Canada, as well as a strong passion for the work of Alongside Hope and its mission: Inspired by God’s love for all creation, Alongside Hope accompanies, learns with, and responds to the priorities of our partners, acting together to improve the well-being of communities.

“I look forward to continuing to engage people through the stories of Alongside Hope’s partners, stories that remind us of the importance of partnership, and the transformative impact of prayer, generosity and walking together in justice and faith,” says McLeod.

Before joining Alongside Hope, McLeod served the dioceses of Isles and Inlets (formerly British Columbia) and Niagara, as well as the parishes of St. John the Divine in Victoria and St. John the Evangelist in Kitchener, Ont., where she attends with her family.

McLeod joins a Management Team within Alongside Hope that includes Alice Locquiao, Director of Finance, Carolyn Cummins, Director of Fundraising and Jackie Koster, Director of Programs and Partnerships. Alongside Hope will be advertising for a new Youth coordination position in the coming months.
